Jittery Joe's
Jittery Joe's is the first chain that I have visited in my quest to hit all of the best coffee spots in Athens and analyze their digital marketing strategies. They have fifteen locations--ten of which are Athens locations and the rest are located in different parts of Georgia, Tennessee, and even one location in Japan. Although Jittery Joe's has now expanded, it's hometown is Athens, GA and they are clearly very passionate about sticking to their roots.
The Jittery Joe's website does a great job of getting the message across to consumers of what they're all about as well as selling their coffee and merchandise. Sticking to their core values of being homegrown and fresh roasted daily, Jittery Joe's makes their customers feel like they are getting extremely high quality coffee all while supporting a local Athens business. I would however consider changing the website by creating a sign up for an email subscription and adding links to their social media accounts. I think these small changes would make all the difference in opening the site up as more of a platform to communicate with consumers rather than simply educating and selling to them.
As for Jittery Joe's social media accounts, I was very impressed. Each account featured different content appropriate to the audiences that would follow them. They do a wonderful job of promoting their business without being to pushy or commercialized. They feature content from their customers, present upcoming events, and talk about launch of new products to keep their audience interested. These accounts are designed in a way to make their following base feel as though they are looking at a social account rather than a business account. The fact that this a local Athens business and the majority of their cafes are located in Athens makes this strategy extremely effective. While Jittery Joe's expands, they don't want to lose that original charm of their Athens roots, therefore they have created this conversation with their followers on social accounts promote that community feeling across all of their locations.
As a whole, Jittery Joe's digital marketing strategy is solid. I hope they continue to keep up the good work as they grow as a business and extend themselves into even more locations. The key for their business is staying true to their original roots--as long as they can do this in an authentic way, their customers will continue to support them.
